About Us

If you are looking for a place to worship, or you are simply curious about Jesus and how the Vineyard community walks alongside Him, we invite you to come as you are and join us in this great adventure.

Vineyard Flagstaff is here to share the good news that Jesus has rescued us from our brokenness, and can bring us into a right relationship with God. None of us are perfect this side of heaven, so we invite you to begin your journey as you are; let’s watch God do His work, in all of us, together!

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 says, 4 Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

We feel that obedience is imperative for us to be successful on this adventure. In John 15 Jesus tells the story of the vine and the branches and how He is the vine and we are the branches and that there is nothing that we can do outside of him. He, Jesus, goes on to say in verse 14 “You are friends if you do what I command”. If we are going to do His work we need to be obedient to what He has called us to do.

Psalm 95:1-7 says, 1 O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. 3 For the Lord is a great God And a great King above all gods, 4 in whose hand are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are His also. 5 The sea is His, for it was He who made it, and His hands formed the dry land. 6 Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. 7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand.

Beyond worship through music it is our desire to worship God though our finances, through our relationships. Our primary desire is that Vineyard Flagstaff will be known as a place to love God with all of our hearts through the way we worship in EVERY aspect of our life.

Jesus was always about connection, in fact he commanded it. Jesus said “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

It is not the grand gestures that connect you with people, it’s the things that let them know you honestly care; and this is what we want to bring to Flagstaff.

Romans 12:3-8 says, 3For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. 4 For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. 6 Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; 7 if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching; 8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

What Jesus is telling us here is that no matter what your abilities are you must use those abilities to serve others, but we are not only to serve them we are to serve them joyfully. Our deepest desire for Vineyard Flagstaff if that we will be known for our service. We want to be His hands and feet in Flagstaff. Our hearts desire is to serve with no questions asked.

Robert Gibson
Senior Pastor

Robert was born in Southern California and raised by a single mother with his older sister.  When he first met his beautiful wife, Krista, he knew she was the one for him; however, it took Krista a few years to catch up.  Robert & Krista were married in June of 1998. Their marriage has been a series of moves and adventures; they have lived in California, Florida and Arizona, as well as the Czech Republic.  They are now grateful to call Flagstaff home. Robert prays that this is the last stop God has for them!

When Robert gave his life to Jesus, he was far- and trying to get even further- from the Lord.  When he had a radical encounter with Jesus at Vineyard Church North Phoenix, he knew his life would never be the same. One reason being that he heard Jesus calling him into ministry that very night.

Robert has a deep desire to see families and marriages restored. His wish is that Vineyard Flagstaff would be a place where everyone feels welcome, included, and that through this a group of believers would form who can go out and bless the city.

Krista Gibson
Co Pastor

Krista grew up in Southern California the oldest of 8 kids. At the ripe old age of 18, she met Robert who would become the love of her life in a few short years. But first, Krista had a heart for adventure (and partying) and left California to live in Washington, followed by a stint on a cruise ship in Alaska. Having grown up Catholic, God was not someone Krista had a personal relationship with, but rather thought of Him as a condemning God who needed a list of “good works” from Krista to get in to Heaven. She came back from Alaska, called up her old pal Robert, and the rest is history! They were married in 1998, and had their first daughter- Alona- later that same year. Many moves and adventures later, Robert and Krista found themselves in Florida and had Sophia, their second of three daughters. Another move and another daughter brought them to Arizona where they had Maya Bella.

In November 2010, during her student teaching, Krista had a radical encounter with Jesus- ironically, in a classroom! Robert, Krista and their three daughters came to know the Lord; this time, it was personal. Since that fateful November in 2010, the Gibson family has been running passionately towards the Lord. God placed on Robert and Krista’s heart to be church planters. In June 2016, Krista packed up her classroom in Glendale and off they went as a family to Flagstaff. Krista now teaches in Flagstaff and helps Robert get the church plant up and running!

Nicole McReynolds
Worship Pastor

Nicole McReynolds grew up in Phoenix and recently moved to Flagstaff with her husband Brice and their two cats; she has recently adopted a puppy as well. She is a special education teacher and loves it. She feels blessed to be the Vineyard Flagstaff worship pastor. She got her start with worship at a young age at Vineyard Church of North Phoenix and has been able to learn a lot from that amazing team. Now she is excited to worship with you at Vineyard Flagstaff.

Brice McReynolds
Student Ministries

Brice grew up just south of Kansas City, KS, in a town called Gardner. When he was in 6th grade a friend invited him to youth group and from there God began to lead him into a life way wilder, crazier and better than he could have ever imagined.

About two years ago, he and his wife began to feel a calling to bring the thriving student ministry they both devoted their lives to somewhere outside of the Phoenix area, but they weren’t sure where. Through tons of prayer, wise counsel and a reckless faith in God’s promises, they realized the Gibson’s vision for Flagstaff was where they were supposed to be.

Brice has been working with students for nearly a decade in one way or another through children’s and youth ministries. Most recently he was the Youth Administrative Coordinator at Vineyard Church North Phoenix.

On a more personal note Brice and Nicole have been married since November 2014 and have two cats (Olive and Hope) and a dog (Mac). He is a graduate of Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and is absolutely in love with anything with wheels and motors. He enjoys bluegrass and blues music and considers himself a connoisseur of Bar-B-Q.

Being able to invest in students’ lives the way his leaders and mentors invested in his is something deeply rooted in his heart.

Worship the Lord in Giving
We give as an act of worship. We give out of gratitude for God’s grace in our lives. We give to support the ministry of our church and to see the kingdom come in the lives of people who need rescue, hope, and healing in our community and around the world.
